Rebecca Ferguson refused to work with co-star after being ‘screamed at’ on set

Rebecca Ferguson told the co-star she never wanted to see them again.

Rebecca Ferguson refused to work with one of her co-stars after they “screamed at” her on set and left her in tears.

The Dune actress revealed on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast that she once worked with an “absolute idiot of a co-star” who took their insecurities out on her.

“I remember there was a moment and this human being was being so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out. And I think I was so vulnerable and comfortable that I got screamed at,” the Swedish actress recalled. “But because this person was number one on a call sheet, there was no safety net for me. So no one had my back. And I would cry walking off set.”

Ferguson claimed the co-star gave her a dressing-down in front of the entire crew, yelling, “You call yourself an actor? This is what I have to work with? What the f**k is this?”

The 40-year-old alleged that she had “no one” on her side as she stood there “just breaking”.

When she returned to set the following day, she spoke up and refused to work with the co-star.

“(I said), ‘You get off my set,'” Ferguson remembered. “It’s the first time I’ve ever spoken (up), I remember being so scared. I looked at this person and I said, ‘You can F off. I’m gonna work towards a tennis ball. I never want to see you again.”‘

When the producers insisted the actor had to be present on set, she suggested acting to the back of their head instead. She later went to the director to ask why the actor was allowed to behave that way.

“The director said, ‘You’re right. I am not taking care of everyone else. I’m trying to fluff this person. Because it’s so unstable,'” she said. “It was great from that moment, but it took so long for me to get to that (being able to use her voice).”

While she did not identify the co-star in question, Ferguson insisted it was not The Greatest Showman’s Hugh Jackman or Mission: Impossible’s Tom Cruise. She also shared that it happened within “the last 10 or 12 years”.
