Ana de Armas praises Tom Cruise for endorsing her movie Ballerina

Ana de Armas and Tom Cruise are working together on multiple projects.

Ana de Armas has heaped praise on Tom Cruise for publicly endorsing her new movie Ballerina.

During his recent press tour for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, the action star – who is a huge champion of the cinematic experience – promoted his own movie as well as other features like Ballerina, F1 and Sinners.

Reacting to the endorsement, de Armas told Variety that Cruise’s support for her John Wick spin-off and all theatrical films is “unbelievable” and “really amazing”.

“You know what, he supports every movie,” the Knives Out star said at the film’s Los Angeles premiere. “He really wants the industry and cinema to go well and (wants) people going to the theatres. We’re working together, so he got to see Ballerina and he actually really liked it. He loved the John Wicks.

“It is very special that someone like him is supporting (Ballerina). It is really special in general to have other actors and people supporting each other. We can do well all together.”

During his publicity tour, Cruise repeatedly praised Ballerina and called de Armas “very talented” and “a great actress”.

The actors, who are rumoured to be dating, are working together on multiple upcoming projects, including the undersea supernatural film Deeper, to be directed by Doug Liman.

Speaking to Deadline at Tuesday’s premiere, de Armas shared an update on the project’s development.

“(I’m) training, just training, getting ready for what’s going to come,” she teased.

According to the publication, Deeper follows an astronaut who encounters a terrifying force while on a deep dive into a never-before-explored trench.

Ballerina will be released in cinemas on Friday.
