Jennifer Lawrence nervous about making feature directorial debut

Jennifer Lawrence is nervous about taking on so much responsibility.

Jennifer Lawrence is so nervous about directing for the first time that she feels like she’s “going to vomit”.

The Oscar-winning actress revealed in October that she was co-writing the script for a comedy with Kim Caramele, the sister of her close friend Amy Schumer, and she plans to direct and star in it.

Lawrence shared more details about the project during a live taping of the Happy Sad Confused podcast in New York.

“(She) and I have been writing this movie called Six Little Numbers and it’s funny. I think it’s funny. And theoretically, I would star in it and direct it,” she said, before admitting that she was nervous about taking on so much responsibility.

“I feel like I’m going to vomit. It’s just so embarrassing if it doesn’t go well,” she continued. “If a movie comes out and people don’t like it, but I just acted in it, you know, it’s not (a problem), but like if I directed it and it doesn’t do (well)… Oh God (sighs), but it’ll probably be fine.”

In a profile with The New Yorker in October, The Hunger Games actress revealed that she and Caramele, a writer and producer known for her work on Inside Amy Schumer, Trainwreck and Swiped, were in the middle of writing the second draft.

She added, “I want to be able to make something that feels completely mine. It’s not about scale anymore, it’s about feeling connected to the work.”

More than 10 years ago, Lawrence, Carmele and Schumer were working on a script for a film in which the actresses would play sisters. However, that project never came to fruition.

In addition to her directorial debut, the Silver Linings Playbook star is also developing a Miss Piggy movie with her pal Emma Stone. They are producing the film and are expected to appear alongside the iconic Muppets character.
