Sandra Bullock to star in action movie Cash Truck
Sandra Bullock has signed on to star in a action movie inspired by 2004 French film Le Convoyeur.
Sandra Bullock is to take a lead role in upcoming action-thriller Cash Truck.
The Academy Award-winning actress will portray a character named Alex in the film, according to Deadline.
Directed by Josef Wladyka, the movie has a screenplay co-written by Ethan Erwin, Albert Hughes and John Hodge, with the plot drawing inspiration from Nicolas Boukhrief's 2004 French film Le Convoyeur.
Le Convoyeur focused on the disturbed and mysterious Alexandre Demarre, as played by Albert Dupontel, who works as a security guard at a truck company, but his ulterior motives later become apparent.
The Hollywood version will follow the story of Alex, who has recently relocated from the U.S. to London to work at an armoured car company, which was the recent target of a heist. While Alex slowly starts to win the confidence of her colleagues, she begins to unveil her own mysterious agenda, with a secret from her past surfacing and leading her in a dangerous and thrilling direction.
The film will be produced by Joel Silver under his Silver Pictures banner, with Hal Sadoff set to serve as executive producer.
Sandra was most recently seen onscreen in David Gordon Green's 2015 film Our Brand Is Crisis, in which she played a battle-hardened American political consultant sent to help re-elect a controversial president in Bolivia.
She has also recently wrapped filming on Gary Ross' Ocean's Eight, a female-centric spinoff of the Ocean's Eleven franchise, which also stars Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett and Matt Damon. The movie is slated to be released in June next year (18).
Other casting details and a potential release date for Cash Truck have yet to be announced.
