Jack Black plays a man who becomes accidentally magnetized and erases all the tapes in the video store where his best friend works. To save the store, the duo re-enact and re-film every movie that its single loyal customer, an elderly woman, rents. Michael Gondry directs from his own script.

Always look on the bright side of life with writer-director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, The Science Of Sleep), whose new film pays homage to dearly departed VHS and some of Hollywood's finer moments. Be Kind Rewind is a quirky comedy about two best friends who, through outrageous misfortune, have to remake Hollywood blockbusters with only a camcorder and their ingenuity. Some of these 20-minute revamps are hilarious (Ghostbusters with kitchen foil and tinsel) and Jack Black's impersonation of a scrap metal Robocop, complete with hairdryer gun, is unforgettable.
