Billed as a romantic drama, the story tells of the relationship between a young woman suffering from a rare neuromuscular disorder and her eccentric caregiver. Featured players include Helena ("THE WINGS OF THE DOVES") Bonham-Carter as Jane and Kenneth ("THE GINGERBREAD MAN") Branagh as Richard. Jane's affliction not only keeps her wheelchair-bound but causes her to lose her voice. Richard is a petty criminal who reluctantly agrees to perform community service in her home. Although chronically shy, he soon finds himself falling in love with his patient. This film marks the feature film debut of helmer Paul Greengrass, whose prior directing credits include "The Fix," a controversial soccer drama for the BBC.
